Data Deletion#
There are two ways to delete your data from kenari.dev. Which one you need depends on whether you have a kenari account.
Delete your kenari account#
If you have a kenari account, delete it from the dashboard:
- Sign in at app.kenari.dev.
- Go to Settings → Danger zone.
- Type your account name to confirm, and delete.
What happens right away:
- your WhatsApp numbers are disconnected from kenari, and your WhatsApp Business accounts are unsubscribed from our webhooks;
- your Meta access tokens, app secrets, two-step verification PINs and webhook secrets are wiped;
- your API keys are revoked, and your webhook endpoints are disabled.
Then, after 30 days, the account and everything left in it are permanently deleted: numbers, keys, webhooks, logs and the audit trail. Billing records are kept only as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Remove kenari from Facebook#
If you connected a WhatsApp Business account to kenari through Facebook, you can remove kenari from your Facebook settings:
- Open Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations on Facebook.
- Find kenari.dev and remove it.
- Choose to delete the data kenari received, if Facebook offers it.
Meta then sends us a deletion request.
What we do:
- the WhatsApp Business accounts you connected through kenari are disconnected;
- their access tokens and secrets are wiped;
- their phone numbers are disconnected, and their PINs are wiped.
What you get:
- A confirmation code. Facebook shows you a code and a link back to this page.
- The status. The link shows whether your request has been completed.
This removes kenari's access to your WhatsApp data. It does not delete a kenari account you may also have. To delete that as well, use the dashboard steps above.
Messages and logs#
- Messages and events. Message content we hold to deliver webhooks is deleted automatically after 24 hours or 7 days, depending on the account's retention setting.
- Request logs. They expire on the same schedule.
- More detail. See our Privacy Policy.
